A great start for the New Year.
At 8:00 AM 10 of us met at C.J.’s near the Antioch Bridge & headed out on hwy 160 to Rio Vista & hwy 12 where we met George & Ella. Once there George took over the lead & took us through Lodi & several other small towns to San Andreas for our annual New Years Day Polar Bear brunch. The weather was overcast & in some spots foggy & everyone but the ladies thought the weather was cool & the ladies thought it was down right cold. At least it was dry & the brunch made up for everything else.
The group was a little smaller than last year (about 70) & it was in a smaller building & the brunch was fantastic! Eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, potatoes; French toast with coffee & orange juice to drink.
There were also many prizes & guess what? Our group won the most of them. As usual Ella won two. Robert also won a couple. Harry won the polar bear & Leonard won the $25.00 pre-register prize so everyone came away happy campers.
After the brunch, drawings & visits we then got on our bikes & took a leisurely ride back home ending another great day of riding & fellowship. The next thing coming up is the state staff meeting in Yuba City. Following that is our monthly meeting on the 13th so every one be sure to be there to hear all our special stories & keep in mind the Blossom trail ride in Fresno will be March the 1st.
All for now, As ever, Herb.
