Diablo Valley Wings Christmas Dinner 08

Sunday evening the 21st of Dec, the Diablo Valley Wings had their Christmas dinner. There were over 20 of us there to celebrate a birthday. What makes it so special is that though' we are not all of the same religion, we as a group celebrate with each other for the other’s beliefs, making us the best group of people that I know.

The dinner was at Marie Callender’s in Concord & the food was great. Predominately Tri-tip, although there was chicken & fish. The dessert was mostly lemon meringue; there was also apple & chocolate. Two very friendly waitresses served us & after dinner it was time to open the presents.

Our chapter director Harry (dressed in formal attire) got up & explained the rules of picking presents. The presents were on a table & separated with male on one side & female on the other although you could pick any one that you wanted. You could not shake or squeeze them. The first one you touched is the one that you picked. After opening it in front of everyone, you then set it in front of you on the table & the next person could pick another present or steal yours. Each present could be stolen twice then no more.

About 70% were stolen at least once, some were trying to hide theirs & others were trying to get someone to steal theirs so they could steal another one that they coveted.

Yes it was an evening of great fun & fellowship & of just being together & we are now waiting for New Years day to go on our Polar bear ride to San Andreas for another day of fun with the Diablo Valley Wings.
